Moshi – Tarangire National Park – Karatu
In the morning at around 6:00 a.m. your safari guide will arrive at the hotel and inform the receptionist that he is waiting for you. After meeting up with your driver, you will start your approximate four-hour journey to Tarangire National Park. The park is famous for its diverse landscape with nine different vegetation zones. Tarangire is particularly known for the abundance of Ancient Baobab trees (the largest trees in the continent) which fill the landscape and dwarf the animals next to them. The river of the park is full of wildlife ranging from a large variety of birds to lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and, of course, elephants. In fact, this park has the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country and provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. The lunch area is fascinating, boasting an observatory with amazing views to the river and wildlife (with good chances of seeing a hunt while having your picnic). After an extensive game drive, enjoyed from the open roof of the vehicle, you will leave the park and travel to a nearby lodge, where you will overnight. Karatu to Central Serengeti, by way of Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, you will be heading to central Serengeti with picnic lunch, and game drives en route, at midday you will reach and have a game drive in the Serengeti Central Part. Then later you will proceed to the Kati Kati tented camp for evening leisure and overnight. Central Serengeti to Northern Serengeti
After an early start, you will set off towards Northern Serengeti by the Mara River where the grass is nutrient-rich of offering the migratory herds a proper supply of fresh grass and water. Northern Serengeti
After breakfast, you will proceed for a full day game drive viewing the great migration at Mara area. Resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high in the Wagakuria area. The real focus is the Mara River and there is a great chance to see the herds cross the Mara River to the north on one day and back south a few days later. Please note that it can be very difficult to witness crossing and is sometimes a matter of luck. A herd can be seen next to river and only decide to cross a couple of days later. This area is a stunning region with kopjes, woodland, riverine vegetation and open plains, similar to the neighboring Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. From Northern Serengeti to Central Serengeti
After breakfast, you will be heading to central Serengeti with picnic lunch, and game drives en route, afternoon game drive in the Serengeti Central Part. From Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast you will continue your safari in the Serengeti National Park. In the Seronera Valley you might be lucky to see predators hunt as animals gather at the waters during the dry season. After lunch at a picnic spot you will slowly drive in the direction of the Ngorongoro Crater. As soon as you have reached the crater you will have a superb view of the caldera. This approximate 20 km wide crater is part of an UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to over 20,000 animals. You will spend the night at the Ngorongoro Tortilis Camp located inside the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Ngorongoro Crater – Moshi
After breakfast at daybreak, you will start your descent on a narrow and steep road to the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest, unbroken and unflooded caldera in the world and it has an unbelievable diversity of wildlife. In addition to zebras and wildebeests, you might also spot the rare black Rhino and other members of the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, and leopard. The crater is also home to other animals such as hyenas, waterbucks, bushbucks, eland and more than 500 bird species. After extensive game viewing and a lunch at a picnic spot, you will leave the caldera and travel back to Moshi, where you will arrive in the early evening.
